A sun sailing over the sallow hill,
the end of a day has drawn again near
but I’ll have no time to mourn its passing,
nor for the seconds that too early are dying.
For morning comes early, it comes too soon
and I still have a heavy list of chores to carry;
stains have to be washed, the eyes dried clean,
ego tended, the fractured heart needs to be mended.
